Privacy & save data

Eras does not require an account. It automatically stores three recent turn-start checkpoints in this browser so you can continue in the same browser. The first checkpoint is saved when a new match is ready, then every two turns (Turns 1, 3, 5, and so on). You can also save to three manual slots, or download and import a save file.

What is stored

Manual saves and recovery checkpoints contain the complete match state and display metadata. Saves on this website are stored in your browser’s local database (IndexedDB), on this device. They survive ordinary page reloads and browser restarts, but are not uploaded to a server or automatically copied to another device. Saving requires browser storage to be available.

When you choose Save file or download a saved game, Eras creates one .civitas-save file containing the complete match state and display metadata needed to resume play. Save files do not contain screenshot thumbnails, account identifiers, or server credentials.

02

Why it is used

Save metadata, version fields, and integrity checks are used in your browser to reject incomplete, incompatible, or altered checkpoints before a match can load.

The current implementation does not upload gameplay analytics, advertising identifiers, or the local pacing and rendering events used by development validation.

03

Sharing and transfer

Eras has no player accounts, automatic cross-device synchronization, public save discovery, advertising network, or sale of save data. Manual saves and recovery checkpoints belong to the anonymous browser that created them.

File creation happens only when you request it. If you share the resulting file through your browser or operating system, the destination you choose receives the match data in that file.

04

Retention and your controls

Manual slots remain until you replace or delete them. Autosaves rotate through three separate slots. Saved games lets you delete individual manual saves or autosaves; a confirmed Delete all saves action is available only when the inventory cannot be read. Failed saves preserve earlier checkpoints. Clearing site data or changing browser profiles removes access to these saves. Private browsing may discard saves when the session ends, and browsers may remove stored data when space is needed; export important checkpoints first. Downloaded files remain wherever you store them until you delete them.

Importing validates a file locally and loads it only after you explicitly choose to continue. The same two-turn schedule continues from the saved turn for the receiving browser; loading alone does not create a checkpoint. Importing the same file in another supported browser transfers the saved match without an account.

05

Security and service records

Save files include compatibility and integrity data. Eras validates those fields before loading and refuses files that are malformed, incompatible, or altered.

The hosting platform may process ordinary technical request information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as network address, browser request details, timestamps, and error records. Eras does not use that information to create a player profile.

You can play without creating an account. Continue restores your latest valid saved game in this browser. Keep exported files somewhere you control before clearing site data or moving to another device.
